Network Engineer – WAN

📋 Description

• Assist in the configuration, support, and maintenance of WAN infrastructure for medium to large enterprise networks.

• Diagnose and resolve WAN issues, conduct root cause analysis, and document the solutions provided.

• Deploy and enhance MPLS, OSPF, and BGP routing within intricate enterprise architectures.

• Work collaboratively with network architects and cross-functional teams to plan and implement WAN modifications.

• Provide support for VPN solutions (site-to-site, IPSec, SSL-VPN) to ensure secure connectivity between offices.

• Manage firewall policies and monitoring systems to uphold the network's security posture.

• Keep comprehensive network documentation, topology diagrams, and records of changes.

• Engage in change management processes and participate in on-call rotations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in medium to large network environments with a focus on IP routing, switching, and security.

• In-depth understanding of MPLS, OSPF, and BGP and their interplay within the network.

• Practical experience with Cisco IOS (including IOS-XR and Nexus OS).

• Familiarity with Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k, ASR 1000/9000 routers, and Catalyst platforms.

• Knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and SSL-VPN technologies.

• Exposure to large data center architectures, inter-office routing strategies, site-to-site VPNs, and FW/IPSec implementations, along with monitoring practices.

• Experience in connecting lab equipment, executing proof-of-concept projects, and documenting solutions with diagrams.

• Analytical and data-driven problem solver with a proven track record of operational success.

• Nice-to-Have: Experience with VoIP, RTP, SIP peering/trunking, and SBC solutions.

• Familiarity with large data center interconnects, interoffice routing strategies, and FW/IPSec implementations.

• Knowledge of incident response, vulnerability management, SIEM, IDS/IPS monitoring, and TCP/IP traffic analysis.

• Understanding of Linux network functions and networking in SaaS/Cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure).

• CCNP or an equivalent certification.
