Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary escalation point for intricate network, security, wireless, and WAN incidents.

• Lead advanced diagnostics, root cause analysis, and problem management initiatives.

• Oversee high-risk changes, upgrades, maintenance tasks, and service restoration efforts.

• Mentor and guide Level 2 engineers by providing technical support and coaching.

• Create technical standards, documentation, implementation plans, and knowledge resources.

• Assist with after-hours operational tasks, maintenance windows, and incident response as per customer service commitments.

• Offer after-hours technical guidance and incident management support to ensure the swift restoration of customer services and contribute to the quick resolution of critical customer incidents.

• Provide after-hours support to adapt to evolving business, customer, operational, and technology needs.

• Participation in an on-call roster, planned maintenance activities, major incident responses, and out-of-hours work will be necessary according to business and customer demands.

• Accountable for ensuring compliance with organizational policies, customer obligations, security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices pertinent to their role.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cyber Security, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience supporting enterprise, service provider, or MSP network and security environments.

• Demonstrated experience in managing technical escalations, major incidents, and complex troubleshooting tasks.

• Fortinet FCP/FCSS, Cisco CCNP, Aruba Professional, Palo Alto, or equivalent certifications are highly valued.

• Strong comprehension of ITIL service management practices.

• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and contributing to the development of technical capabilities.
