Lead, Network Architect – DC Core

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• The Lead Network Architect is responsible for designing and developing IT infrastructure architecture solutions that address business challenges in accordance with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.

• This role involves tackling problems of varying scope and complexity, ranging from moderate to substantial.

• Provides Level 3 design, engineering implementation, and support for the Data Center Network Engineering team at Humana.

• Engages in on-call and implementation responsibilities during nights and weekends as necessary.

• Conducts advanced Data Center Network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, including CLOS L3 Spine/Leaf, VxLAN BGP EVPN, MEC, MLAG, and vPC.

• Executes advanced design, implementation, and troubleshooting for Palo Alto technologies.

• Facilitates advanced design, implementation, and troubleshooting for Cisco Nexus Route/Switch.

• Handles advanced design, implementation, and troubleshooting for Arista Route/Switch.

• Reviews business requirements provided by Humana in collaboration with the Network Architects & Engineering teams.

• Develops High-Level Design and diagrams based on the specified business requirements.

• Creates Low-Level Design and traffic flow diagrams using the High-Level Design diagrams as a foundation.

• Constructs a Low-Level Design cabling matrix derived from the High-Level Design diagrams.

• Confirms that all necessary equipment and WAN circuits are available or have been ordered.

• If additional equipment or WAN circuits are required, prepares quotes and discusses them with the project team, then collaborates with Humana network leadership to place orders.

• Develops an implementation plan (build/deploy plan), verification process, and backout strategy to execute the Low-Level Design.

• Generates implementation Change tickets in Service NOW, coordinating with the PM to communicate outage windows in line with Humana standards.

• Implements (build/deploy) in accordance with appropriate change ticketing and coordination.

• Conducts post-implementation validation/verification and performance testing, documenting results for submission to Humana.

• Engages in the On-Call rotation.

• Undertakes after-hours solutions implementation and provides support to other teams as needed, utilizing skills to create a significant impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on enterprise experience with Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto design, deployment, and troubleshooting.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with VxLAN BGP EVPN multi-vendor technology, along with an Architect-level knowledge base.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with BGP, complemented by an Architect-level understanding.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with CLOS L3 Spine/Leaf topology and an Architect-level knowledge set.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with management tools such as Cisco NDFC/Nexus Dashboard, Arista Cloud Vision Portal, and Palo Alto Panorama.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with observability tools like Gigamon, Live Action, Arista DMF, and Viavi.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with Quality of Service (QoS).

• Hands-on enterprise experience with Multi-tenancy.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with Internet ingress/egress design.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with AI/NVIDIA designs, deployment, and operations.

• Hands-on enterprise experience with Data Center/Transport providers including Equinix Fabric, Bare Metal, Megaport VXCs, MVE, MCR, and AT&T TAOS.

• Strong comprehension of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and practical experience with automation and CI/CD.

• A Master's Degree in a Technical Field.

• PMP or PMI certification.
