This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Mortgage Closer is tasked with the review of loan packages, scheduling of loan closings, and the preparation of closing documents before loan funding occurs.
• Oversees a pipeline of loans to ensure that service standards and financial objectives are achieved.
• Examines files for precision, updates information in the Loan Origination System (LOS) as required, and resolves closing conditions.
• Prepares the initial closing disclosure along with the complete closing package.
• Ensures that loans comply with federal and state regulations, including but not limited to RESPA, HMDA, and Fair Lending Practices.
• Prepares, reconciles, and sends the final closing disclosure to the title company.
• Coordinates with the title company regarding final documents and guarantees timely delivery of documents for scheduled loan closings.
• Balances final figures with the title company and requests the wire from the wire desk.
• Communicates effectively with team members and external parties to ensure prompt and efficient closing of each loan.
• Identifies and resolves any compliance issues related to loans during the closing and funding process.
• Addresses and resolves any post-closing or audit discrepancies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience in loan closing or funding within the residential mortgage sector.
• Familiarity with RESPA disclosures, FHA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC guidelines, in addition to title commitments, hazard, and flood insurance policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong commitment to providing quality customer service.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrates effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Works collaboratively with others.
• Proficient in all compliance-related regulations, including RESPA.
• Strong mathematical abilities.
• Proficient in PC skills, specifically MS Office products, and has experience with mortgage origination systems.
• Familiarity with Encompass is preferred.
