This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Deliver coverage during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios driven by military requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure program delivery aligns with established scope.
• Offer non-medical, short-term, solution-oriented counseling directly to adults, children, and youth associated with service members.
• Services encompass assessment, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, and referrals to appropriate resources.
• Conduct training sessions and health and wellness presentations, and engage in health fairs and other base or installation events.
• Record counselor activity data daily using a smartphone or web application to maintain accurate reporting.
• Master's Degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field or social work.
• Willingness to accept assignments with undefined durations, including weekends.
• Ability to cover full-time assignments of varying lengths, ranging from a weekend to two weeks.
• Proficient in quickly establishing rapport with service personnel clients, family members, students, parents, and colleagues.
• Flexible in adapting to new working conditions and varying location regulations, adjusting work style to fit each environment.
• Capable of working effectively with minimal instruction and guidance.
• Attentive listener who follows provided instructions carefully.
• Willingness to participate in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees, or other contract activities with minimal notice.
• Ability to quickly engage and communicate with military members, spouses, or children as assigned.
• Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and be fluent in English.
• Advanced understanding of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling techniques.
• Previous military service, being a military family member, or a strong familiarity with military culture is preferred.
• For CYB positions, must fulfill the Magellan MFLC CYB criteria regarding experience with children and youth, and specialize in child and adolescent development/psychology.
