📋 Description

• Offer expert guidance on methodologies, tools, and best practices for sentiment analysis to DoD personnel and partner organizations.

• Create and implement sentiment analysis frameworks tailored to operational intelligence needs.

• Provide advice on selecting, deploying, and optimizing sentiment analysis technologies and platforms.

• Conduct advanced evaluations of population sentiment across various information environments.

• Facilitate tactical and strategic decision-making through actionable sentiment intelligence products.

• Design, deliver, and maintain comprehensive training programs on sentiment analysis techniques and applications.

• Instruct on methods for capturing and processing data obtained from major data scraping and collection initiatives to aid in understanding population sentiment and digital trends.

• Develop practical exercises, case studies, and hands-on training scenarios pertinent to DoD mission objectives.

• Train personnel on data collection methodologies, processing workflows, and analytical techniques.

• Evaluate student proficiency and provide detailed feedback on their analytical outputs.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate innovations into training modules.

• Carry out large-scale data collection and scraping operations from open-source and authorized platforms.

• Process and normalize multi-source datasets including social media, news feeds, forums, and digital communications.

• Utilize natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and computational linguistics techniques.

• Create custom scripts and tools to enhance the efficiency of data collection and processing.

• Ensure data integrity, quality control, and adherence to legal and ethical standards.

• Identify and monitor trends in population sentiment, narrative patterns, and information influence operations.

• Generate clear, concise intelligence products tailored to the needs of various stakeholders.

• Brief senior leadership on sentiment trends, emerging threats, and operational recommendations.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including OSINT analysts, data scientists, and operations personnel.


⛳️ Requirements

• 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience.

• Background in sentiment analysis, social media analysis, or OSINT.

• Experience in instruction or training.

• Previous support to DoD, the Intelligence Community, or federal law enforcement.

• Experience with large-scale data collection, web scraping, and data processing.

• Proficient with sentiment analysis platforms (Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon, Synthesio, Palantir, etc.).

• Advanced programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with web scraping tools (BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, APIs).

• Strong skills in natural language processing (NLP) using tools like NLTK, spaCy, transformers, BERT.

• Proficient in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, D3.js).

• Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

• In-depth understanding of social media ecosystems and online communities.

• Familiarity with information operations, influence campaigns, and narrative analysis techniques.

• Ability to identify trends and anomalies within large datasets.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.

• Knowledge of DoD data regulations, privacy laws, GDPR, and ethical data practices.

• Willingness to deploy up to 50% of the time as mission needs require.
