This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver targeted course material in an online setting
• Provide instruction, assistance, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Customize instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to enhance learning towards set objectives
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Differentiate instruction based on individual student mastery levels
• Enhance course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools
• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators about concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events
• Valid state Department of Education Middle/High School (6-12) English Teaching Certification
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to pass the required background check
• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours weekly
• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours
• Experience with the specified age group
• Experience assisting adults and children with technology use
• Background in teaching in an online/virtual and/or traditional classroom environment
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data to inform instructional decisions
• Capability to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure exceptional student outcomes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Capacity to maintain teaching certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
• Typically available during school-defined hours, such as 9-5 or 8-4
• Willingness and ability to travel as necessary, averaging once a month or approximately 20% of the time
