This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver targeted middle school special education course material in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance tailored to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Ensure that special education and related services are delivered as outlined by the IEP team.
• Communicate with parents and related service personnel regarding therapies and student needs.
• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation.
• Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings.
• Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text.
• Adjust Stride K12 lessons and assessments to align with IEP requirements.
• Support inclusion and promote student success within the general education classroom.
• Gather data and work samples to track progress towards IEP goals.
• Document parent communications and student interventions.
• Analyze student data to inform remediation and enrichment strategies.
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of any concerns.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting.
• Travel up to 20% for professional development, student testing, or school obligations.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Current and appropriate Arkansas Department of Education Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Must be a resident of Arkansas.
• Ability to pass the required background check.
• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours.
• Skill in collaborating with teachers to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data.
• Ability to utilize student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to regular coaching from administrators.
• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure optimal student outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preference for experience with the specified age group.
• Preference for experience supporting both adults and children with technology.
• Preference for experience teaching online or in a traditional classroom setting.
• Preference for experience with an online learning platform.
• Salary range of $45,000-$50,000 per year.
