Middle School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated middle school Science course content in a virtual setting.

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency.

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Manage the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators regarding any concerns about student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Build positive relationships with families and communicate effectively with students and learning coaches/parents.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum, instruction, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.

• Enhance course content by utilizing prescribed synchronous and asynchronous tools under the guidance of principals and coaches.

• Travel as needed for professional development, student assessments, and school events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of Michigan.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Active state teaching license.

• Michigan Teaching Certification is required.

• Middle school Science certification is mandatory.

• Ability to pass a required background check.

• Capability to work independently, generally 40+ hours per week.

• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office environment.

• Availability to work the school’s standard 9–5 or 8–4 schedule.

• Experience with the specified age group is preferred.

• Experience in supporting adults and children with technology is desired.

• Background in online, virtual, or brick-and-mortar teaching is advantageous.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.

• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
