This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver designated middle school mathematics curriculum content in a virtual setting.
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, support, and guidance to students.
• Tailor learning experiences and adjust instruction based on individual student mastery.
• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold standards of student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and advancement while notifying administrators of any performance issues.
• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students, parents, and learning coaches.
• Assist parents and learning coaches with curriculum-related, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting concerns.
• Collaborate with school leaders, coaches, teacher trainers, and fellow educators.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student testing, and school events.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Active teaching license issued by the state.
• Valid Middle School (5-8) Math Teaching Certification from the appropriate state Department of Education.
• If certified in another state, obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment.
• Must pass a required background check.
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office environment during work hours.
• Experience with the targeted age group is preferred.
• Familiarity with supporting adults and children in technology use is preferred.
• Experience in online/virtual teaching or in a traditional classroom setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of online learning platforms is preferred.
• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.
• Use student data effectively to inform instructional decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Maintain teacher certification and professional development hours while demonstrating fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
