Middle School Math Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted middle school mathematics course content in an online setting

• Provide instruction, assistance, and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency

• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system

• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and advancement

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Establish a positive relationship with families and communicate effectively with students and parents/learning coaches in a timely manner

• Assist parents/learning coaches with curriculum, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues

• Collaborate with fellow educators to analyze student data and inform instructional strategies

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Texas Middle School Mathematics Teaching Certification

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid state teaching license

• Capability to pass the required background check

• Residency in Texas

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours

• Experience working with the specified age group

• Background in supporting both adults and children in using technology

• Experience in teaching within online/virtual and/or traditional classroom settings

• Familiarity with online learning platforms

• Proficiency in interpreting and producing numerical, tabular, and graphical representations of student data

• Ability to utilize student data to guide instructional decisions

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
