Middle School Health/PE Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated Middle School Health and PE course material in an online setting

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Tailor learning experiences based on each student’s unique needs and levels of proficiency

• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress

• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments

• Establish positive relationships with families and engage with students, parents, and learning coaches

• Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and leverage it to inform instructional practices

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid North Carolina teaching license/certification

• North Carolina Health/PE endorsement

• Ability to pass the required background check

• Must reside in North Carolina

• Capability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week

• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours

• Experience with the specified age group is preferred

• Experience assisting adults and children with technology is preferred

• Experience teaching in online or traditional classroom settings is preferred

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred

• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data

• Proficient in using student data to inform instructional decisions

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
