Middle School English Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Facilitate specific course content in a virtual setting

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction according to student proficiency

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to further educational objectives

• Enhance course materials utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools

• Manage the grade book and uphold academic integrity among students

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, notifying administrators of any performance issues

• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments

• Foster positive relationships with families and engage with students and learning coaches/parents promptly

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school activities

• Florida 5 Year Professional 5-9 OR 6-12 English Certificate

• Reading Endorsement

• ESOL Endorsement

• Florida residency

• Bachelor's degree

• Active state teaching license

• Capability to pass the required background check

• Ability to work autonomously, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours

• Desired experience with the specified age group

• Preferred experience aiding both adults and children in utilizing technology

• Desired experience in teaching within an online/virtual and/or traditional classroom setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred

• Ability to collaborate with colleagues to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data for instructional decisions is desirable

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred

• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
