This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Deliver designated middle school English Language Arts course material in a virtual setting
• Provide teaching, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Customize learning experiences and adapt instruction based on student understanding
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Manage the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and parents/learning coaches
• Assist parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting
• Enhance course content by utilizing asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of principals and coaches
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events
• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid North Carolina teaching license/certification
• English endorsement
• Must be a resident of North Carolina
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Competence in maintaining a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours
• Experience with the specified age group is preferred
• Experience in assisting both adults and children with technology is preferred
• Background in teaching online or in a traditional classroom setting is preferred
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred
• Skill in interpreting and creating numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Proficiency in using student data to inform instructional decisions
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
