This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Deliver designated course content in an online setting
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Tailor learning experiences to meet the individual needs of students
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and their parents or learning coaches to enhance learning towards set goals
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels
• Enhance course content using suitable online tools as directed by the principal and coach
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, notifying administrators of performance issues
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build and sustain positive relationships with families
• Communicate and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom technical issues
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations
• North Carolina Middle School Teaching Certification is mandatory
• Must be a resident of North Carolina
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Active state teaching license is necessary
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work independently, generally 40+ hours each week
• Must maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4
• Experience with the specified age group is preferred
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology is advantageous
• Experience in teaching within an online/virtual or brick-and-mortar setting is desired
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred
• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical student-data representations for instructional decisions
• Openness to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
• Capacity to adapt to change to ensure outstanding student outcomes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is essential
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
