Mid-Level Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software within an agile development setting.

• Maintain and provide support for a legacy Java Spring Framework application featuring a JavaScript frontend.

• Create code that is reusable, testable, and efficient.

• Troubleshoot software application-related issues or problems.

• Comprehend, learn, and apply emerging automated build, test, and deployment capabilities; assist in guiding project teams towards the integration of such solutions.

• Address identified problems with system integration and capabilities encountered during the testing and implementation phases of developed software to support customer goals.

• Consult with project teams and end users to ascertain software requirements.

• Aid in the assessment and recommendation of application software packages, along with application integration and testing tools.

• Resolve issues and challenges with developed software and respond to suggestions for enhancements and improvements.

• Engage in the creation of software documentation, including training/user manuals.

• Update Java Spring applications to enhance compatibility with external dependencies.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Java and JavaScript development within an agile environment.

• Proficiency in full stack development, Java Spring Framework, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

• A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.

• Capability to lead and collaborate effectively within a team.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Experience in a highly regulated environment.

• Background in microservice development and support.

• Security Clearance Requirements: No clearance is needed upon application, but candidates must be willing to undergo a background check to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
