Medical Director – Spine Surgery, Orthopedic or Neurosurgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• You will begin your training remotely in a structured setting with assistance from trainers, mentors, and leadership to ensure your success.

• Perform time-sensitive, specialized evidence-based medical case evaluations for medical necessity using EviCore’s case management software.

• Engage in physician consultation (peer-to-peer) calls with referring providers to discuss evidence-based medical necessity and the suitability of the requested service or treatment.

• Utilize your clinical expertise to suggest alternative services or treatments as required.

• Collaborate with over 500 EviCore physician colleagues to help guarantee that patients receive appropriate care through evidence-based decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. with a current, active U.S. medical license and board certification (ABMS or AOA) in either Orthopaedic/Orthopedic Surgery or Neurological Surgery.

• Eligible to obtain additional state licensure as necessary.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience following residency/fellowship.

• Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws, as well as Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance standards, is advantageous.

• Ability to adhere to a consistent weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).

• Strong computer proficiency: capable of working independently with automated processes, computer applications, and systems.

• Fulfill the physical demands of the role, including but not limited to typing, speaking, and listening 100% of the time.
