This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• In the role of Medical Director at EviCore, you will utilize your expertise in Pediatric Nephrology to conduct evidence-based medical reviews that enhance patient care quality.
• Engage with healthcare providers while staying updated on healthcare regulations and industry advancements as you assess a diverse array of cases.
• Begin your training remotely in a structured setting, supported by trainers, mentors, and leadership to ensure your success.
• Perform time-sensitive, specialized medical case reviews regarding medical necessity using EviCore’s case management software.
• Engage in physician consultation (peer-to-peer) calls with referring providers to discuss the medical necessity and appropriateness of the requested services or treatments based on evidence.
• Utilize your clinical knowledge to suggest alternative services or treatments when necessary.
• Collaborate with over 500 physician colleagues at EviCore to ensure that patients receive appropriate care through evidence-based decision-making.
• M.D. or D.O. with an active, current U.S. medical license and board certification (ABMS or AOA) in Pediatric Nephrology.
• Eligibility to obtain additional state licensure as required.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience following residency or fellowship.
• Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws, as well as standards set by the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance, is advantageous.
• Willingness to adhere to a fixed weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).
• Strong computer proficiency: capable of working independently with automated processes, applications, and systems.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, which includes typing, speaking, and listening for 100% of the time.
• In line with our HITECH Security Accreditation, a company-issued encrypted workstation must be hard-wired to a modem or router. Wireless connections are not allowed. If working from home, your internet service must be through a cable broadband or fiber optic provider with a minimum speed of 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
