Medical Customer Service Representative

📋 Description

• Respond to incoming calls and emails from patients regarding billing inquiries, address patient complaints, and offer comprehensive information related to medical services and policies.

• Manage patient billing inquiries, clarify charges, insurance coverage, and payment options, while facilitating the resolution of billing discrepancies.

• Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of patient records within the customer’s system, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Refer patient complaints to leadership or the client when necessary.

• Inform patients about outstanding balances for their responsibilities.

• Confidently explain estimates for the services rendered.

• Verify patient coverage and benefits as required, utilizing tools such as payer portals.

• Attend and participate in mandatory team meetings, working sessions, and coaching sessions.

• Report unresolved billing issues, reimbursement delays, and trends to leadership.

• Strive for optimal reimbursement for services rendered.

• Perform additional job duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Previous experience as a customer service representative or similar role, preferably in the healthcare sector.

• Familiarity with explanation of benefits (EOB), revenue collection, claim filing, and patient medical records.

• Understanding of insurance reimbursement policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of third-party operating procedures, regulations, and billing requirements, along with government reimbursement programs.

• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines effectively.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to proactively address and resolve problems.

• Proficient in computer applications like Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom/Webex.
