Math Competition Coach – AIME, JMO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Instruct students on AMC10, AIME, and JMO competition problems through the Think Academy Teaching Platform in a virtual setting.

• Design individualized training programs that cater to each student's unique levels and objectives.

• Develop problem sets, handouts, and educational resources that align with various competition frameworks.

• Keep abreast of current trends, formats, and problem-solving styles prevalent in annual math competitions.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to students preparing for both local and international math competitions, such as BMT and HMMT.

• Conduct around 3–4 classes weekly while managing administrative tasks including problem set creation, grading, preparation, and communication with students and parents.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics or a related STEM discipline.

• Experience in math competitions, having qualified for the USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad or a comparable level.

• A robust mathematical foundation and comprehensive understanding of competition-style problem solving.

• Ability to clearly articulate advanced concepts and inspire students across various proficiency levels.

• Availability during the designated Pacific Time class hours.

• A passion for competitive mathematics and a dedication to helping students succeed.

• Previous experience in teaching or coaching competitive math.

• Participation in team-based math competitions, such as BMT or HMMT, is highly advantageous.

• A commitment to at least one year, extending through May 2027.

• Availability for approximately 30–40 hours per week, encompassing both teaching and administrative responsibilities.
