This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Evaluate material damage claims and total losses as assigned.
• Negotiate settlements for claims and manage salvage disposal within authorized limits.
• Coordinate vehicle inspections with repair facilities, policyholders, or claimants.
• Capture photographs of damaged areas and prepare estimates on claims when necessary.
• Assess rental requirements and manage costs in accordance with company policies.
• Negotiate repair expenses with service providers.
• Establish values and settle total loss claims.
• Oversee salvage disposal within authorized parameters.
• Identify the cause of damage to ensure proper policy coverage.
• Issue settlement checks and maintain accurate records.
• Build relationships with agents and claims adjusters.
• Communicate with policyholders and claimants regarding any complaints from the initial assessment.
• Participate in relevant training sessions.
• Manage assigned material damage claims.
• Assess antique and classic vehicles for coverage value as requested by Underwriting.
• Be available for catastrophe duty, which may include short-notice travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.
• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a body shop or general claims handling, or completion of a formal ERIE training program is required.
• Must reside in the designated territory unless a relocation is approved by the company.
• Willingness to acquire and maintain any necessary licenses is essential.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Must be available for catastrophe duty, including potential short-notice travel for over two consecutive weeks.
• Completion of a General Insurance program is preferred.
• Strong organizational abilities are required.
• Capability to use necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs with the assistance of lifting equipment.
• Ability to occasionally climb or access heights.
• Frequent lifting/moving of 0–20 lbs and occasional lifting/moving of 20–50 lbs is required.
• Ability to frequently push/pull and move wheeled objects or equipment.
• Capability to perform manual keying, data entry, computer usage, and information input occasionally.
