Manager, Strategic Finance – Planning Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the integrated planning and reporting engine for the annual operating plan, long-term plan, and monthly/quarterly forecasting cycles.

• Spearhead the advancement of planning and reporting into a scalable, system-driven architecture.

• Act as the functional and technical steward of the financial planning platform, encompassing evaluation, design, implementation, enhancement, administration, and team empowerment.

• Manage the planning systems roadmap, which includes prioritization, user acceptance testing (UAT), governance, and change management.

• Lead finance transformation initiatives that enhance automation, standardization, and simplicity, including the adoption of AI where advantageous.

• Create data flows and integrations that link the planning platform with the ERP, data warehouse, and business intelligence stack.

• Collaborate with Accounting, Data Engineering, and Analytics on the architectural framework.

• Generate executive-oriented financial deliverables, such as Weekly Business Reviews, monthly operational expense reviews, and quarterly materials for the Board and Audit Committee.

• Develop dashboards and reports that reveal key performance indicators (KPIs) and business insights with minimal manual effort.

• Collaborate with category, marketing, and operations finance teams to standardize, validate, and consolidate inputs.

• Establish best practices for systems controls, data governance, and documentation of the planning process.

• Report directly to the Director of FP&A and serve as a force multiplier for the broader FP&A team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an equivalent field.

• Over 6 years of progressive experience in strategic finance/FP&A and finance systems or finance transformation roles.

• Strong financial and business insight, including a deep understanding of P&L mechanics, budgeting, forecasting, and the consolidation of company-wide planning cycles.

• Practical experience in implementing, administering, or managing an EPM/planning platform such as Anaplan, Pigment, Adaptive, Planful, or equivalent, with a focus on model design and integrations.

• Proven success in leading a finance transformation project from start to finish and establishing or significantly scaling planning systems and automated reporting.

• Capability to manipulate large datasets and convert them into clear, structured, decision-ready outputs.

• Strong project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that connect technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, demonstrating a proactive approach in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

• A history of utilizing AI and automation to enhance finance workflows.

• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with BI tools like Looker and Amplitude (preferred).

• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP integration (preferred).

• Background in a high-growth public company or late-stage startup (Series C+) (preferred).

• Exposure to a public company's external reporting cycle, including Board meetings, Audit Committees, earnings, or guidance (preferred).
