Manager, Machine Learning Engineering – Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the technical strategy for your team and assist your engineers in aligning it with significant, business-critical projects.

• Serve as a force-multiplier by establishing and advocating for technical solutions and operational processes.

• Collaborate with various teams throughout the product development lifecycle by working alongside product management, design, and analytics to ensure that technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are properly understood and managed.

• Foster talent by offering constructive feedback and guidance while leading by example.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with over 8 years of industry experience, including more than 3 years in a management role overseeing engineers.

• Expertise in machine learning with experience in areas such as tree-based models, transformers, deep learning, and agentic ML.

• Strong engineering capabilities with the ability to provide hands-on technical leadership while engaging with our code and architecture.

• You excel in ambiguous situations and are comfortable navigating from low-level language idioms to the architecture of large systems to grasp their functionality.

• This role requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
