Manager, Machine Learning Engineering – Repayment & Recovery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Define the technical strategy for your team and assist your engineers in aligning it with critical, business-impacting initiatives across repayment, collections, recovery, and loss mitigation.

• Serve as a catalyst by defining and advocating for technical solutions and operational processes.

• Collaborate with various teams throughout the product development lifecycle by partnering with product management, design, analytics, and risk to ensure technical sustainability and effectively manage risks and trade-offs.

• Foster talent development by offering feedback and guidance, and by leading through example.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with over 8 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing engineers.

• Experience in the financial services sector, particularly in credit/lending, with practical expertise in post-origination modeling—collections, repayment, recovery, loss mitigation, early-warning or behavioral risk, or similar areas.

• Expertise in machine learning, with experience in domains such as tree-based models, transformers, deep learning, and agentic ML.

• Strong engineering capabilities and the capacity to provide hands-on technical leadership while engaging with our code and architecture.

• You excel in uncertain environments and are adept at navigating from low-level language idioms to the architecture of large systems to comprehend their functionality.

• This role necessitates either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
