Manager, InterOperability Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team focused on interoperability engineering and product ownership.

• Oversee hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development initiatives.

• Set team priorities, manage workload planning, and oversee capacity management.

• Define and uphold the enterprise interoperability architecture strategy and roadmap.

• Establish standards, patterns, and best practices for APIs, interfaces, event-driven integrations, and data exchange.

• Design scalable integration architectures that accommodate growth, acquisitions, and evolving healthcare business needs.

• Evaluate and suggest technologies, platforms, and architectural methodologies.

• Ensure interoperability solutions are in compliance with security, governance, compliance, and operational requirements.

• Maintain architectural documentation, standards, and reference designs.

• Design, develop, test, and support APIs, interfaces, and middleware solutions.

• Create integrations between EHRs, operational systems, cloud platforms, vendor applications, and data platforms.

• Configure and optimize integration engines and middleware technologies.

• Engage in hands-on coding and solution delivery activities.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate interoperability, integration, and data exchange challenges.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational support practices for critical integrations.

• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to pinpoint interoperability opportunities and priorities.

• Translate organizational objectives into platform capabilities and technical roadmaps.

• Work alongside vendors, implementation partners, and healthcare technology providers.

• Aid in due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions and new business initiatives.

• Propel long-term interoperability maturity and healthcare data exchange capabilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in healthcare information technology.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing and implementing integration or interoperability solutions.

• Experience in designing enterprise architecture for healthcare technology environments.

• Proven track record in building and scaling interoperability capabilities, platforms, or programs from early-stage or transformational settings.

• Experience leading technical teams and executing complex technology initiatives.

• Proficient in working across business, clinical, operational, and technical stakeholder groups.

• Familiarity with HL7 v2.x.

• Knowledge of FHIR.

• Proficient in REST APIs.

• Experience with SOAP services.

• Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards.

• Experience with integration engines and middleware platforms.

• Familiarity with cloud integration architectures.

• Experience with event-driven architectures.

• Knowledge of enterprise application integration.

• Understanding of authentication and authorization frameworks.

• Experience with API management platforms.

• Proficient in data integration and transformation solutions.

• Experience with SQL and database technologies.

• Background in software development and application architecture.

• Preferred: experience in home health, hospice, post-acute care, or healthcare services organizations.

• Preferred: experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale system integrations.

• Preferred: experience with Epic, HCHB, or other healthcare clinical platforms.

• Preferred: experience in building enterprise API platforms.
