This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Support Ryder’s Continuous Improvement culture throughout the Business Unit/Vertical.
• Advocate for and facilitate continuous improvement methodologies across both new and existing operations.
• Oversee CI resources across various operations to promote data-driven continuous improvement, engineering, and automation initiatives.
• Achieve enhancements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth performance.
• Utilize data analytics, engineering techniques, and Ryder lean tools to identify and rectify root causes.
• Supervise professionals in continuous improvement engineering and quality.
• Lead recruitment, promotions, coaching, development, and performance management decisions.
• Manage numerous complex Supply Chain projects.
• Formulate and implement strategy, scorecards, and KPI action plans.
• Evaluate critical site and business requirements alongside operational leadership.
• Create and execute continuous improvement strategies at Ryder locations.
• Generate data and action reports to measure progress against performance and business objectives.
• Educate, coach, and mentor employees, teams, managers, and business owners on the Ryder Business System, engineering, data analysis, and lean methodologies.
• Assist with start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing inputs, go-live, and steady-state certifications.
• Implement product slotting, labor standards, layouts, flow optimization, data profiling, automation, data analytics, and resource modeling.
• Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, encompassing A3 charter creation, pre-work, results delivery, and follow-up for sustainment.
• Identify process gaps and guide CI teams in executing process enhancements.
• Monitor and report on transformational activities and project value across customer accounts.
• Direct the assessment, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of lean processes across various accounts.
• Design, implement, oversee, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Establish and supervise a standardized corrective action system.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification standards.
• Manage Quality Assurance for start-ups or expansions.
• Supervise internal audits for compliance with regulations and certifications.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management is required.
• A minimum of nine (9) years of experience in Distribution, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Supply Chain Logistics is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Advanced knowledge of Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S/Workplace Organization.
• Expert understanding and practical experience in core engineering and data analysis functions, including slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, and metrics.
• Lean Six Sigma certification is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

• Ability to manage multiple cross-functional and complex CI projects from inception to sustained results.
• Intermediate skills in data visualization and database programming such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, DAX, or similar tools are preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD/AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST, Manhattan Scale, and labor management systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, various warehouse types, layouts/design, and lean methods.
• Understanding of material-handling solutions and automation, including PIT applications, racking, storage solutions, packaging equipment, conveyor and sortation systems, and AS/RS is preferred.
• Familiarity with Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks.
• Knowledge of various types of transportation equipment, including dry van, temperature control, flatbed, and specialized equipment.
• Familiarity with JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM, Tableau, mapping software, and transportation management systems is preferred.
• Understanding of HRM systems such as Workday and related HR processes.
• Knowledge of team-member recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Familiarity with goal setting and performance management/resolution is preferred.
• Certifications such as cPMP, ISO/QMS, APICS, and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification are preferred.
• Ability to meet any additional screening, employment/education verification, motor vehicle record checks, road tests, badging, or customer background requirements if applicable.
