This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead the architecture, implementation, support, and advancement of enterprise data platforms, encompassing Master Data Management solutions and extensive cloud-based data services.
• Take ownership of the technical direction for the MDM platform, which includes data models, integration patterns, survivorship rules, matching, workflow, stewardship, and data quality processes.
• Define and progress the long-term architecture for contemporary big data platforms, including data lakes, data lakehouses, delta lakes, scalable storage patterns, and cloud-native data processing frameworks.
• Lead and mentor data engineers and developers throughout architecture, design, development, deployment, platform operations, production support, and systems integration.
• Design and supervise integrations between data platforms, operational systems, and analytical platforms utilizing APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Function Apps, Logic Apps, and related cloud services.
• Establish architectural standards and engineering best practices for ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, semantic modeling, observability, and security.
• Manage projects and initiatives within the Data Management group utilizing Big Data technologies and associated platforms.
• Oversee current applications and maintain ownership and responsibility for data applications, databases, and services.
• Develop and manage robust solutions in Azure-based cloud deployments of Big Data platforms.
• BA/BS or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, big data platforms, data integration, MDM, or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering cloud-based data solutions in Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Extensive experience in designing modern enterprise data platforms, including data lakes, data lakehouses, delta lakes, scalable storage patterns, and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Hands-on proficiency with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or similar services.
• Strong experience with Azure Function Apps, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Databricks.
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, ETL/ELT design, pipeline orchestration, and both batch and streaming integration patterns.
• Experience with Spark-based processing, SQL, Python, or other modern data engineering tools and methodologies.
• Proficient in building and supporting integrations using APIs, event-driven or file-based data exchange, and operational-to-analytical data movement patterns.
• Familiarity with Master Data Management concepts and platforms, including data quality, mastering, matching, survivorship, hierarchy management, and stewardship workflows.
• Experience with DevOps and delivery practices utilizing Azure DevOps, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage, cataloging, quality controls, and security models such as Azure AD and role-based access.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple initiatives, define architectural direction, and drive delivery in complex enterprise environments.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the capability to translate intricate technical concepts into clear business language.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the independent identification of root causes, evaluation of options, and implementation of scalable solutions.
• Experience in the travel industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Profisee or similar Master Data Management platforms is advantageous but not required.
• Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus but not essential.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview is desirable but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint is a plus but not required.
• Experience managing offshore, remote, or hybrid delivery teams is favorable but not necessary.
• Exposure to machine learning, advanced analytics, AI-enabled data capabilities, or real-time/event-driven data architectures is an asset.
