Machine Learning Scientist 4 – Generative Models, Evaluation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Monitor developments in LLM and generative model research, converting them into tangible opportunities.

• Utilize cutting-edge techniques to enhance summarization quality and LLM-based evaluators for assessing generated content.

• Oversee the complete ML development process, encompassing research, model training, and evaluation.

• Collaborate with ML scientists and engineers to integrate models into business applications and platforms.

• Simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Serve as a subject matter expert to pinpoint high-impact opportunities and outline and implement roadmaps.

• Engage with both internal and external ML communities to learn, educate, and enhance the Netflix brand.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of following LLM/generative model literature and recognizing advancements applicable to real business challenges.

• Strong background in ML and Deep Learning, particularly in Natural Language Processing / Understanding and Generation.

• Research experience in summarization or generated-text evaluation (e.g., LLM-as-judge methods) is highly advantageous.

• Experience with vision models, such as diffusion models, is a plus.

• Proficiency in one or more LLM post-training techniques.

• Documented success in designing, conducting, and analyzing rigorous experiments from hypothesis development to statistical validation of results.
