This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Design, develop, and deliver a well-defined project on the Agora roadmap, culminating in a presentation to engineering and research teams.
• Enhance and refine components of concurrent and parallel systems, including multiprocessing, async I/O, and threading, within a production distributed training framework.
• Engage directly with large-scale training infrastructure on AWS and GCP.
• Actively contribute to the production codebase through code reviews, daily standups, and collaborating with an Agora team partner.
• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Master's or PhD program in machine learning, computer science, or a related discipline.
• A solid foundation in machine learning that aligns with the needs of a research-oriented team.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
• Experience in developing concurrent or parallel systems utilizing multiprocessing, async I/O, or threading.
• Practical experience with distributed machine learning acquired through internships, academic coursework, or substantial projects.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or other cloud service providers.
• Based in Australia.
• Proficient in English at a professional level, both written and spoken.
• Experience in C/C++ is a plus.
• High-quality publications in machine learning are appreciated but not mandatory for candidates focused on systems.
• Contributions to open-source ML frameworks, distributed systems, or networking libraries are advantageous.
• A fixed-term internship with the possibility of extension.
