Machine Learning Engineer I, Personalization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Leverage both in-house and third-party Large Language Models (LLMs) to address language comprehension challenges.

• Utilize methods such as fine-tuning and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to enhance model performance.

• Play a key role in the design, development, evaluation, deployment, and refinement of Spotify’s product through hands-on machine learning initiatives.

• Assist in optimizing, testing, and developing tools to elevate the quality of our content enrichment resources.

• Collaborate with diverse teams of Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs), data and backend engineers, and stakeholders from tech research, data science, and product development to create innovative features and technologies.

• Actively engage in our AI Foundation’s machine learning community, working efficiently with our current platforms and systems.

• Conduct data analysis to establish benchmarks and guide product decisions.

• Keep abreast of the most recent advancements in machine learning algorithms and methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in machine learning, particularly with Large Language Models.

• Professional experience in applied machine learning.

• Substantial experience in a product and data-driven setting (proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, SQL, with a requirement for Python expertise).

• Practical experience in implementing or prototyping machine learning systems at scale.

• Proficient in designing data pipelines and independently sourcing the data necessary for model building and evaluation, utilizing tools such as Dataflow, Apache Beam, or Spark.

• Commitment to agile software practices, data-driven development, reliability, and systematic experimentation.

• Experience and enthusiasm for nurturing collaborative team environments.

• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or other scalable machine learning frameworks.

• Experience in architecting near real-time pipelines is an advantage.
