Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design and create machine learning solutions, ensuring they meet standards for accuracy, performance, security, and scalability.

• Develop and sustain comprehensive AI/ML pipelines—ranging from data ingestion and feature engineering to model development, validation, and deployment—with support from senior engineers on intricate architectural choices.

• Equip AI/ML services with relevant metrics, logging, and telemetry to track model performance and operational health in accordance with established SLOs.

• Engage in on-call rotations, executing progressive rollouts and implementing standard mitigation strategies to maintain the health of production inference services.

• Collaborate throughout the planning, design, and code review stages, contributing to product and technical discussions while enhancing overall code quality through constructive feedback during reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 2 years of experience in machine learning engineering or applied ML, with proven skills in Python and at least one ML framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX), as well as familiarity with NLP libraries such as Hugging Face Transformers, NLTK, or SpaCy.

• Experience in developing, testing, and deploying small to medium-sized ML services or features within a collaborative engineering environment, including model versioning, experiment tracking, and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Proficiency in Python (preferred) or a similar object-oriented programming language.

• Experience leveraging Large (or Small) Language Models within software systems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
