This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate and assess borrowers’ credit history, employment status, income, and assets prior to the underwriting submission.
• Compile comprehensive loan packages in the correct order for underwriting.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation along with processing checklists.
• Create loan approval summaries, Forms 1008 and 1003, and verify the information within loan documents.
• Liaise with Loan Originators, customers, and Underwriters to gather necessary documentation.
• Review loans for compliance with mortgage regulations and prepare required disclosures.
• Acquire third-party documents such as surveys, flood certifications, title commitments, payoff information, and additional items.
• Confirm vendor orders, invoices, and documentation within the loan file.
• Oversee the assigned loan pipeline, completing activities and reporting within established turnaround times.
• Assist with loan setup, closing, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and other documentation needs within the department.
• Record significant communications related to loan applications in the loan origination system.
• Take ownership of assigned loans from contract to closing, including monitoring status, outstanding items, deadlines, and next steps.
• Proactively relay milestones, loan status updates, concerns, and outstanding items to borrowers, Loan Originators, and referral partners.
• Identify, address, and escalate any issues related to documentation, underwriting, timelines, or closing processes.
• Track contractual closing dates and milestones to ensure accurate and timely closings.
• Work flexible hours and overtime as necessary based on business requirements.
• Carry out additional duties as required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Over 5 years of experience in residential mortgage processing.
• Proficient in Encompass.
• Familiarity with RESPA regulations and knowledge of mortgage and consumer lending regulations and loan documentation is preferred.
• Understanding of DU, LP, Microsoft Office, and Windows.
• Strong math and analytical abilities.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Excellent prioritization and time management capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Primarily operates during Pacific Time zone working hours.
