Linguist, Telugu

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate linguistic rubrics, taxonomies, and annotation guidelines.

• Work alongside clients and internal teams to collaboratively establish project-specific linguistic standards and documentation.

• Perform linguistic reviews, quality assurance, and error analysis to guarantee the delivery of high-quality outputs.

• Assist in projects related to ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), TTS (Text-to-Speech), transcription, speech annotation, and NLP.

• Offer linguistic expertise to enhance annotation quality and the performance of AI models.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's or Ph.D. in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related area.

• Native or near-native fluency in the target language, complemented by excellent communication skills in English.

• Over 3 years of experience in AI language data, linguistic annotation, localization, or speech technology initiatives.

• Demonstrated experience in developing annotation guidelines, creating rubrics/tags, designing taxonomies, and establishing linguistic quality frameworks.

• Experience engaging directly with clients to formulate and evaluate linguistic guidelines.

• A strong grasp of ASR, TTS, transcription, speech annotation, and NLP workflows.
