This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
β’ Develop high-quality real-time lighting for gameplay settings, levels, cinematics, characters, and interactive sequences.
β’ Convert art direction, concept art, reference materials, gameplay needs, narrative objectives, and client feedback into effective lighting solutions.
β’ Utilize lighting to create mood, atmosphere, visual hierarchy, environmental storytelling, and direct player attention.
β’ Ensure that lighting enhances gameplay clarity, navigation, combat visibility, character presentation, and key interactive elements.
β’ Innovate and fine-tune exposure, color, contrast, fog, atmosphere, reflections, shadows, emissive responses, color grading, and post-processing.
β’ Craft lighting for various visual styles, including realistic, stylized, cinematic, and highly art-directed projects.
β’ Maintain visual consistency across related environments, gameplay areas, sequences, times of day, and lighting conditions.
β’ Guide assigned scenes from initial lighting setup through to final refinement.
β’ Address feedback from Art Direction, project leadership, and clients promptly and professionally.
β’ Ensure that completed work aligns with project standards for quality, performance, organization, and delivery.
β’ Professional experience in creating lighting for games, real-time projects, animation, visualization, or a related field.
β’ A portfolio or reel showcasing strong real-time lighting capabilities.
β’ Solid grasp of lighting fundamentals, including value, color, contrast, composition, visual hierarchy, atmosphere, exposure, shadow, and material response.
β’ Experience in lighting gameplay environments or interactive real-time scenes.
β’ Understanding of how lighting influences mood, gameplay clarity, navigation, environmental storytelling, and player focus.
β’ Professional experience with Unreal Engine or another modern real-time engine.
β’ Familiarity with dynamic or baked lighting, global illumination, reflections, volumetrics, exposure, color grading, and post-processing.
β’ Working knowledge of physically based rendering and material response.
β’ Understanding of basic lighting optimization, including light cost, shadows, volumetrics, reflections, scalability, and platform limitations.
β’ Capacity to take ownership of assigned scenes and guide them through review and completion.
β’ Capability to receive, interpret, and apply artistic and technical feedback.
β’ Experience in reviewing artwork or providing constructive feedback to colleagues.
β’ Skill in identifying work that falls short of established quality standards and communicating practical improvements.
β’ Ability to balance visual quality, technical requirements, production scope, and timelines.
β’ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
β’ Ability to organize priorities, communicate risks, and see work through to completion.
β’ Experience collaborating with various game-development disciplines.
β’ Flexibility to adapt to different projects, visual styles, engines, pipelines, platforms, and client expectations.
β’ Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a distributed team.
