Legal Document Production Team Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Guide, mentor, and assist a team of specialists in legal document production, establishing clear expectations and performance metrics.

• Hold regular one-on-one meetings, team gatherings, and performance evaluations to foster engagement, accountability, and professional growth.

• Supervise daily operations of the team, ensuring that workloads are planned, assigned, and completed in accordance with agreed service levels.

• Uphold the highest standards of precision, output, and turnaround time for all document production tasks.

• Serve as the primary escalation point for issues related to workflow challenges, quality concerns, or client expectations.

• Provide direct assistance with complex document production when necessary.

• Ensure the team consistently meets or surpasses individual and collective targets as well as service level agreements (SLAs).

• Advocate for best practices and support the integration of new technologies and tools.

• Track productivity, quality, and team performance; investigate errors and address issues in a constructive manner.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing workflows, processes, and operational methods, facilitating the implementation of improvements.

• Maintain comprehensive process documentation and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

• Address all client inquiries and concerns effectively, representing the issues on behalf of the account manager when necessary.

• Develop and sustain strong daily relationships with clients.

• Assist in service reviews, contributing to positive client outcomes and long-lasting partnerships.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in legal document production.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in team management.

• Proven experience in producing, reviewing, and managing complex documents, including advanced proficiency in word processing functions (styles, templates, tracked changes, formatting).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiar with legal/document tools such as PDFdocs, DocuSign, and digital dictation software.

• Experience in meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to build constructive working relationships and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

• Adaptable and flexible, thriving in a fast-paced environment while balancing operational oversight with hands-on support as needed.
