This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Contract law (IT & AI): Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating both national and international IT agreements (such as SaaS, cloud, licensing, development agreements, EVB‑IT, service, and partner agreements).
• Provide legal support for projects related to artificial intelligence (including LLMs, training data, prompt design, and liability).
• Develop and assess AI policies, terms of use, and internal governance frameworks.
• Assist with regulatory advancements regarding the EU AI Act, Data Act, DSA, and DMA.
• Data protection & compliance: Offer guidance on GDPR, BDSG, TTDSG, and international data protection regulations.
• Prepare and review data processing agreements (DPAs), joint controller agreements, and consent processes.
• Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), risk analyses, and transfer impact assessments (TIAs).
• Develop and implement data protection policies and provide employee training.
• Support during data breaches, incident response, and liaise with supervisory authorities.
• Create and maintain records of processing activities and internal compliance structures (potentially supported by legal tech).
• Fully qualified lawyer.
• Strong understanding of IT and contract law, preferably with an emphasis on software, cloud, and technology projects.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data protection law (in settings such as law firms, corporations, or associations).
• Preferably possess practical experience in: EU data protection law (including GDPR, ePrivacy, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs)).
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence/LLMs (including legal evaluations of training data, bias, and transparency).
• Experience with IT projects (such as agile contract drafting, technical documentation, and interfacing with legal tech).
• Confident demeanor, ability to work autonomously, and strong commercial insight.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both German and English.
