Lead SRE/DevOps Engineer

📋 Description

• Take ownership and enhance Launch Potato's cloud infrastructure, CI/CD platform, and compliance framework.

• Establish the SRE function from the ground up to enable product teams to deliver faster while maintaining reliability, security, and cost management.

• Develop the SRE practice from inception: including on-call rotations, PagerDuty setup, SLA/SLO definitions for key infrastructure services, a runbook library, and observability dashboards linking site performance to business metrics.

• Complete the AWS multi-account migration: transition production workloads to an isolated account without any unplanned downtime.

• Provide an SOC 2 Type I audit-ready infrastructure evidence package: oversee the implementation of technical controls from start to finish.

• Version and publish the Terraform module library: (30+ modules) to a private registry to eliminate ad hoc git usage by product teams.

• Implement automated deployment rollback for ECS and Lambda: ensure production is gated by integration test success.

• Establish monthly cost reporting for leadership: including budget anomaly detection, savings plan recommendations, and expenditure tracking by service/team/environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in production AWS infrastructure with extensive expertise in Terraform.

• Proven hands-on experience in building the SRE function from the ground up with complete ownership.

• Experience working in a multi-site organization where PaaS or microservices are essential.

• Ownership of CI/CD pipelines in one or more previous roles.

• Familiarity with PagerDuty and setting up an on-call rotation.

• More than 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipeline ownership, and SRE tools (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, PagerDuty or equivalents) in a production setting.
