Lead Software Engineer – Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical lead for your designated area or service within the retail service cloud, establishing architectural guidelines and upholding quality benchmarks.

• Develop, construct, and deliver features by engaging in daily coding tasks alongside the team.

• Detect and address technical obstacles throughout the stack, including profiling, refactoring, and platform scaling.

• Upgrade outdated code and services with contemporary, maintainable solutions while optimizing the entire stack.

• Create frameworks and reusable patterns for future projects across the portfolio.

• Strategize and communicate product roadmaps, manage sprint tickets, and assertively address requests when technical trade-offs are necessary.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers through code reviews, collaborative coding, and hands-on troubleshooting.

• Contribute to team development by enhancing developer productivity and participating in hiring decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and Node.js.

• Expertise and practical experience with API Gateway, AWS Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB.

• Proficient with IAM and CloudWatch for debugging and implementing least-privilege designs.

• Familiarity with Python and Django or similar server-side frameworks.

• Proven history of taking ownership of a product or service area from a technical perspective, including architectural decisions, code quality, and delivery results.

• Proven ability to mentor and uplift other engineers while remaining a key individual contributor.

• Experience in replacing or modernizing legacy systems in a production setting.

• Proficient in managing competing priorities, planning sprints, and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong views on code quality and engineering best practices, while remaining flexible enough to collaboratively find the best solutions.
