Lead Software Engineer, Platform

📋 Description

• Assisting PostEra in its mission to deliver therapies to patients by influencing systems design decisions regarding our drug discovery platform.

• Staying engaged with the codebase by contributing to the development and enhancement of the platform that supports our team's feature delivery.

• Leading by example and promoting best practices in software development and engineering culture.

• Making informed decisions regarding system architecture, which encompasses API design, application boundaries, and microservice communication.

• Cultivating a learning and improvement-focused environment within our engineering team.

• Guiding engineers through hands-on technical collaboration and overseeing a small team of direct reports.

• Working alongside scientists and ML experts to address challenges linked to the discovery of new medicines.

• Steering projects aimed at refining our engineering framework and implementing monitoring solutions that provide real-time insights into application performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience and a bachelor's degree (or higher education) to excel in this position.

• Proficiency in systems design and backend web development.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Experience with a focus on technical mentorship or responsibilities related to people management.

• Expertise in a Python-based backend web framework (e.g., Django).

• Experience in integrating ML systems into production services or software.

• Familiarity with container orchestration or workflow systems (such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Argo, Airflow).

• Some knowledge of data pipelines.

• Experience in designing agentic workflows or context engineering.
