Lead Software Engineer – AI Code

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the delivery process for features and projects, encompassing design, implementation, deployment, and client interactions.

• Collaborate with senior engineers on intricate builds while independently managing significant components.

• Develop production AI workflows, which include RAG components, integrations with cloud platforms, and agentic automations.

• Evaluate pull requests from associate engineers.

• Draft design notes utilized by the team.

• Engage in architectural discussions and decisions regarding the systems under development.

• Dedicate 20% of engineering resources to sustainability and social impact initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience delivering production code with end-to-end ownership of features.

• Proficient in full-stack development across modern web technologies (TypeScript, React, Next.js) and at least one backend language (Python or Node).

• Familiarity with relational databases and a cloud platform; specifically, the company utilizes GCP.

• Working proficiency with Claude Code or similar agentic engineering tools, applied daily in real work contexts.

• Excellent asynchronous written communication skills, including crafting PR descriptions, design notes, and performing written code reviews.

• Direct experience interacting with clients, including participation in standups, demos, and project scoping discussions.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Experience working with production systems utilizing Vertex AI, Gemini, or the Claude / Anthropic API.

• In-depth knowledge of GCP, specifically Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Vertex AI, and IAM.

• Background in agentic workflow tools, MCP servers, or RAG systems within production environments.

• Contributions to open-source projects or development of production-grade side projects.

• Ability to work remotely, with availability during overlapping hours of LATAM and US Pacific business times.

• Strong communication skills paired with effective client management capabilities.

• A proactive and inquisitive mindset.
