Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), QA Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Define and implement the quality strategy for a product by integrating both automation and manual testing effectively.

• Oversee, recruit, and guide a quality team comprising SDETs, Test Analysts, and a TA lead.

• Responsible for ensuring the quality of all deliverables, workflows, and relationships within the quality team.

• Collaborate closely with development technical directors and program managers to align on the quality strategy.

• Anticipate and manage the product's testing schedules, dependencies, and resource allocation.

• Advocate for and influence best practices in software development and enhance the customer experience.

• Lead the identification, design, and implementation of technical solutions (frameworks, tests, API hooks, tools) to improve test effectiveness and coverage while minimizing testing costs.

• Establish metrics, analyze testing data and outcomes to identify trends, report risk status to development partners, and impact software quality.

• Disseminate insights, solutions, and best practices within the team and throughout Drivetrain.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong passion for Quality Assurance and software engineering.

• Robust and demonstrated programming capabilities (Python, Java, C#).

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience in a professional setting.

• Experience in designing and building automation frameworks, test harnesses, and QA tools.

• More than 4 years of hands-on testing experience.

• Proven experience in team management and developing engineering talent.

• In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.

• Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Pytest, Selenium, Playwright, or Appium.

• Proficient in API automation.
