Lead Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will hold technical responsibility for our PHP-driven backend systems and oversee their ongoing development.

• Engage in hands-on development focusing on backend, APIs, and business logic.

• Refactor and organize an existing PHP codebase.

• Design, develop, and enhance API and service architectures.

• Ensure the performance, stability, and maintainability of production systems.

• Define and establish coding standards, along with testing and CI/CD processes.

• Collaborate closely with Product and business units, especially regarding tax-specific business logic.

• Provide technical support to the development team and actively participate in architectural and implementation decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Multiple years of experience in PHP development (e.g., Symfony or Laravel).

• Experience with established production codebases.

• Strong comprehension of software architecture (modularization, services, APIs).

• Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).

• Experience in designing and managing REST APIs.

• Familiarity with Docker and contemporary CI/CD processes.

• High standards for producing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

• A consistent hands-on approach with active development work on a daily basis.

• Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS) in an operations or infrastructure setting.
