Lead SDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance automation frameworks and testing infrastructure that adapt to product expansion and complexity.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish quality strategies, KPIs, and guidelines across various teams.

• Design, architect, and implement automation solutions for comprehensive testing across UI, APIs, services, and integrations.

• Lead investigations into complex production issues and initiate actions to prevent future occurrences.

• Set best practices for test data management, mocking/stubbing, contract testing, and observability within QA.

• Promote ongoing enhancements of CI/CD pipelines to enable quicker and more reliable releases.

• Guide, mentor, and develop SDET1/2s, establishing technical direction and evaluating automation designs.

• Work closely with product managers, architects, and developers to influence design and architectural choices for improved testability and resilience.

• Detect automation or coverage gaps and spearhead initiatives to reduce flakiness, enhance coverage, and minimize customer-reported bugs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in software test automation and quality engineering.

• Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java, with the capability to create frameworks from the ground up.

• Extensive knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Mocha, PyTest, Selenium).

• Demonstrated success in building and scaling automation frameworks for large-scale distributed systems.

• Practical experience with microservices, APIs, and GraphQL.

• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Experience leading quality initiatives and shaping engineering culture.
