Lead Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Develop, train, and assess cutting-edge models for May’s autonomous driving, simulation, and machine learning platform stack.

• Utilize innovative methods in End-to-End driving, Vision Language Action (VLA), and World or Foundation model areas to address commercial-scale challenges.

• Guide small, cross-functional engineering teams to push beyond current industry standards.

• Establish practices for data balancing, training experimentation, and evaluation to optimize training efficiency at a petabyte scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in one of the following areas:

• Vision Language Action Models

• Generative World Models

• Foundation Models in Robotics

• Data Centric AI

• At least 4 years of industry experience working with commercial robotics systems.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience mentoring ML Engineers in a commercial or laboratory setting.

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field that demands a solid mathematical and/or engineering background.

• Practical experience in addressing the “Long Tail” issue in Machine Learning.

• Proficient programming skills in Python/PyTorch within a Linux environment.

• Functional knowledge of LiDAR, camera, and radar processing techniques.
