
Lead Field Service Technician – Services and Commissioning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, and servicing of static frequency converters (SFC), variable frequency drives (VFD), low voltage and medium voltage drives, switchgear, transformers, and power systems.
• Offer technical support and supervision to clients during installations.
• Perform on-site analysis of data and technical instructions.
• Supply management with thorough and timely updates about safety and project/service progress, as well as any customer or equipment issues and failures.
• Deliver technical support through on-site coaching and training on the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of designated programs and ground support equipment.
• Collaborate with the quality team to conduct root cause analysis and produce reports in the event of equipment malfunctions or failures to identify and analyze any negative trends.
• Complete necessary site documentation including weekly safety updates, installation checklists, pre-commissioning, and commissioning procedures.
• Engage in hands-on on-site parts replacement, testing, and verification of electrical equipment.
• Comply with the company’s Health and Safety policies and work in a safe and best practice manner to ensure the well-being of personnel and equipment is maintained.
• Capable of interacting effectively with upper management and peers within the organization, both internally and externally, in a clear and systematic way.
• Must be a trade-qualified Electrician or possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Strong comprehension of Power Electronics, Electric Circuits, Electric Power Systems, Medium Voltage, and Harmonics, along with proficient hands-on skills.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers is essential.
• Proficiency in at least one computer programming language is required.
• Practical experience and familiarity with testing instruments such as recorders, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, insulation resistance testers, and HI pot testers.
• Willingness to be on marine vessels if necessary and remain offshore for a specified number of days.
• Open to travel, including distant in-country or international trips with short notice.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations, as well as the associated risks and hazards.
