This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Oversee the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and servicing of static frequency converters (SFC) and variable frequency drives (VFD) for both low and medium voltage drives, switchgear, transformers, and power systems.
• Offer technical support and supervision to clients during installations.
• Perform on-site analysis of data and provide technical guidance.
• Relay comprehensive and timely information and reports to management regarding safety and project/service status, as well as any customer or equipment issues and failures.
• Deliver technical support through on-site training and guidance on the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned programs and ground support equipment.
• Collaborate with the quality team to conduct root cause analysis and prepare reports in the event of equipment malfunctions or failures to identify and analyze any adverse trends.
• Complete site documentation, including weekly safety updates, installation checklists, and pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures.
• Engage in hands-on parts replacement, testing, and verification of electrical equipment at the site.
• Comply with company Health and Safety policies and work in a safe and best practice manner to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
• Capable of interfacing with upper management and peers both internally and externally in a clear and systematic manner.
• Must be a trade-qualified Electrician or possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Strong understanding of Power Electronics, Electric Circuits, Electric Power Systems, Medium Voltage, and Harmonics, along with practical skills.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Proficient in at least one computer programming language.
• Practical experience and familiarity with testing instruments such as recorders, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, insulation resistance testers, and HI pot testers.
• Willingness to work on marine vessels when necessary and be offshore for a specified number of days.
• Open to travel, including long-distance domestic or international trips on short notice for brief durations.
• Good grasp of Health and Safety regulations, as well as the risks and hazards involved.
