This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Contribute Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) expertise to assist GE’s Common Core Systems team in establishing and managing technical objectives across various aircraft platforms.
• Implement system development and verification plans for aircraft computing products in accordance with GE Aviation processes.
• Create system functional requirements based on stakeholder expectations.
• Aid in the development of architecture models and the allocation of requirements to sub-systems, hardware, and software components.
• Validate and verify system requirements effectively.
• Diagnose and resolve system integration and verification challenges.
• Oversee the Systems Engineering Lifecycle for products and technologies.
• Collaborate with the Technical Lead and peers to formulate and execute project and design plans along with reviews.
• Create and implement test cases and procedures to validate the system under evaluation.
• Manage and coordinate issues, problem reports, and change requests until resolution.
• Coordinate design modifications and deliveries with Safety, Security, and Certification organizations.
• Engage with customer engineering organizations to define and refine requirements for future platforms and systems.
• Responsible for cost and schedule performance for assigned activities.
• Maintain performance and Earned Value (EV) metrics, reporting them to leadership.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams managing projects within the product line.
• Ensure timely delivery of system requirements, integrated validation and verification activities, and issue resolution.
• Support the initiation of new projects to ensure they are well-planned in alignment with the product roadmap, overall product line strategy, and engineering process requirements.
• Lead and manage interdisciplinary collaboration with software, hardware, testing, safety, maintainability, reliability, and certification teams.
• Promptly escalate issues requiring additional engineering or business leadership support.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in design and development and/or technical project leadership within an engineering product development context.
• Background in Systems Engineering Processes (ARP 4754A or similar).
• Previous experience in managing or designing within an Avionics Design Assurance Level A or B environment.
• Familiarity with DO-297, DO-178, DO-254, and/or DO-330 process assurance standards.
• Prior experience working on A653 partition-based operating systems.
• Knowledge of networking products or data concentrator systems.
• Understanding of interfaces including, but not limited to, analog, discrete, RS-232/422/485, ARINC 429/664/825.
• Experience with engineering processes encompassing requirements definition, allocation, validation, verification, integration, embedded software, electronic systems, FAA/EASA/NAA certification, and system safety.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership both inside and outside the organization.
