This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Overseeing the design of steam turbine components, including HP, IP and LP sections, bearings, flanges, valves, and blading.
• Directing the design and detailing of various steam turbine parts such as casings, bearing pedestals, rotors, blades, diaphragms, and couplings.
• Leading the design and creation of manufacturing drawings for other OEM components through reverse engineering.
• Developing relevant design and quality documentation alongside layouts using CATIA, in compliance with applicable standards and design regulations.
• Specifying materials for a range of steam turbine components.
• Performing necessary calculations and analyses related to these components, utilizing company software, spreadsheets, or manual calculations.
• Gathering, analyzing, and resolving technical data from vendors, sites, or customers.
• Ensuring timely completion of documentation, quality standards, and budgets (maintaining On Time Delivery).
• Assisting with technical tendering by providing mechanical design insights.
• Offering engineering support to the sourcing department for the procurement and implementation of various steam turbine components.
• Addressing Non-Conformance Reports that arise during manufacturing and installation at the shop or site.
• Aiding the tendering process with Technical Tendering Layout and Retrofit Solutions.
• Collaborating with a global and cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) to promote mutual technical development and meet customer needs.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least ten years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of steam turbine design and operational principles, including reverse engineering of large capital spare parts like rotors and casings for OEM and other OEMs.
• Familiarity with modern engineering tools, standards, and design principles.
• Experience in layout design or design analysis of turbomachinery components.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes related to steam turbine components.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5; familiarity with other 3D CAD software will be considered if willing to adapt to company software such as RPDM/PLM/GTCC, including Geomagic Design X & Control X.
• Strong planning, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to prioritize and schedule work effectively.
• Proficiency in the English language.
