Lead Director, Specialty Trade

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Facilitates the creation and negotiation of contracts with pharmaceutical and medical supply manufacturers.

• Guides the development of strategies for manufacturers, account relationship management, and cost management.

• Formulates procurement strategies for product and supply arrangements, distribution strategies, tier and rebate performance arrangements, and formulary management.

• Works to achieve operational, functional, and business objectives with measurable impacts on progress against targets for the Pharma Contracting area.

• Contributes to the formulation of complex strategies that align with the organization's goals and position by leveraging project management tools, data analysis, and stakeholder feedback.

• Instructs account management and manufacturer negotiations to effectively control drug and medical supply costs.

• Utilizes advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical contracting to ensure successful establishment of pharma and medical supplier contracts.

• Develops negotiation strategies aimed at driving financial and operational efficiencies.

• Works independently to identify and assess new business opportunities that can generate additional margins.

• Provides guidance to junior colleagues through consultation and mentoring in techniques and processes, as well as offering functional (matrix) supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of work experience.

• At least 8 years of experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare, contracting, or the pharmaceutical industry is required.

• Proven track record in business development and contracting.

• Experience presenting effectively in front of large, executive-level customer audiences is required.

• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as required by business needs.

• Proficient in execution and delivery skills (planning, delivering, and supporting).

• Skilled in business intelligence.

• Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.

• Expertise in problem-solving and decision-making skills.
