This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee controls and instrumentation tasks on-site during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of upgrade projects or new installations.
• Manage the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of control systems such as Mark V, Mark VI, Mark VIe, Cimplicity, and HMIs.
• Offer technical guidance and support to customers regarding OEM packaged products.
• Diagnose issues with PLC ladder logic, software documentation, and hardware/software installations of control solutions.
• Execute modifications to control constants and adjust software sequencing as needed.
• Establish and modify hardware/software linked to gas and steam turbine systems.
• Prepare field service assignments and collaborate with project/service managers.
• Deliver training sessions to customer personnel.
• Supervise tasks such as cable laying, insulation resistance testing, and connections.
• Maintain precise timesheets and secure customer approvals.
• Compile field service reports within one week following job completion.
• Provide timely and accurate reports, both internally and externally.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and participate in technical meetings with clients.
• Adhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations during field activities.
• Offer expert advice on complex projects.
• Complete pre-outage and installation planning efficiently.
• Travel frequently, work offshore, and operate in restricted countries as required.
• Support business growth strategies and enhance customer satisfaction through high-quality service.
• Report job progress daily or weekly to clients, plant or utility owners, and construction firms as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Extensive experience with GE Controls systems, including Mark V, Mark VI, or Mark VIe.
• In-depth knowledge of turbines, generators, control panels, PLCs, and field instrumentation.
• Practical experience with field tools and the ability to interpret technical drawings, including P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in both English and Arabic.
• Valid driver’s license and passport required.
• Willingness to travel frequently (75%) and work offshore or overtime as necessary.
• Familiarity with EX2100e is considered a plus.
• Capable of supporting outages and resolving emerging issues.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills for explaining technical concepts.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and take responsibility for on-site activities.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and to work overtime.
• Proven experience with successful installations and outages.
• Knowledge of instruments, controls, PLCs, computer network systems, and switches.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
